STOP Relying on Motivation

"What's the most important Mental Toughness skill?"

Great question and it's one I'm often asked.

I'm a 2x Olympian and Mental Tougness Coach and here's my answer:

SELF-DISCIPLINE.

It's the willingness to do what you should, even though you don't feel like it.

Motivation is a feeling:

  • "I don't feel like it." (You don't do it).

  • "I'm tired." (You don't do it).

  • "I'll do it later." (You don't do it).

Self-discipline is an action:

  • "I don't feel like." (You do it anyway).

  • "I'm tired." (You do it anyway).

  • "I'll do it later." (You do it now).

Want to get ahead of the crowd? Tap into your self-discipline. It's what your Greatest Self would do.

Want some help with that? I work with athletes, parents, coaches to help them figure out what's going on in their head, cut through the noise, and release their inner tiger.

CHANGE DOESN'T TAKE TIME. IT TAKES COURAGEOUS ACTION.
